Actors Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston fashionably tied the knot Saturday, July 29, 2000 at TV producer Marcy Carsey's Malibu mansion, with some of the industry's hottest designers contributing to a fairy tale wedding that reportedly cost $1 million.
Lawrence Steele, the American designer in Milan, designed Aniston's floor-length white silk tulle halter dress encrusted with tiny pearls. Manolo Blahnik's ivory suede sandals featured tiny ankle straps and double bows.
Hedi Slimane (pronounced Ee-dee Slim-arn, according to the Guardian), the menswear designer formerly at Yves Saint Laurent and currently at Dior, designed Pitt's dinner jacket. The Hedi Slimane jacket was worn with a straight, rather than bow, tie much to the chagrin of fashion experts, according to Vogue UK.
Steele also dressed Aniston's two bridesmaids in pale green silk chiffon tunics over off-white silk slips. Pitt's attendants wore Prada.
Two hundred guests turned out for the ceremony, which reportedly cost $1 million, replete with fireworks.
Designers Steele and Slimane also dressed the duo for the 2000 Oscars.
