Online Jewelry Industry

If you try to search about wedding and engagement rings store using google, you'll find some hundred thousand result. It mean that this industry already so crowd. The store, advertiser, also reseler related to this business became very competitive just few years after google launch their search engine, as long as i know. New jewelry trader site need more efford just to get traffic, mean, they have to spend more than anyone else to advertise their business. I think its not a problem since jewelry industry set enough margin for profit.

For advertiser, like me for instance, need extra effort too just to get organic traffic from search engine. Standar blog, or website, will be buried under some hundred or thousand google search engine result pages.

Jewelry trading, wedding and engagement rings especially, is a serious bussines. If you don't try hard, you're nobody on the net.

Choosing Engagement Ring or Wedding Band

The wedding bands and engagement rings you choose will be one of the most enduring pieces of your wedding day. Not only are they an important element of becoming married, but they are also a longlasting symbol of your love and commitment. Therefore, you'll want to choose jewelry that is timeless and high quality. Ultimately, you'll also want to be an educated consumer who knows what you're getting for your dollar.

Style of Engagement Rings: There are several ways to pick an engagement ring. Since she'll be wearing for the rest of her life, you'll want to make sure you get it right. One option is to propose without an engagement ring, and then go to pick it out together. While this is a sure way to know that she'll like the ring, some people feels this robs the engagement ring of some of its romance. They may prefer to bring her best friend or mother shopping with them, or have a romantic date of preview shopping for the ring. Another option is to study what kind of jewelry she wears - from what kind of metal, to whether it's contemporary or classic, even perhaps "borrowing" a ring to take with you to the jewelry store, which will also help you know her ring size.

Style of Wedding Bands:
Follow your instincts with the look and design of your ring, while asking yourself if it will be a design you'll be comfortable wearing every day for the rest of your life. The traditional plain gold wedding band will be in style for years to come. If that's too plain for you, consider a beaded edge or an engraved style. For a slighty flashier look, what about channel-set diamonds? Ultimately, choose a wedding band that you feel is expressive of your style and personality. I've heard of a couple that chose to have wedding bands custom-made that resembled bicycle gears, reflecting their mutual love of bike-riding. There's really no wrong answer as to what style you should choose.

Many couples choose the metal for their bands by matching it to their engagement ring. However, don't feel bound to this. A bride can choose to wear her engagement ring on her right hand, and wedding ring on the left. Also, each of you can wear a similar style in different metals. Consider which metals each of you wear regularly - is most of her jewelry silver? Is his watch gold?

Primary engagement ring and wedding band metal choices include:

Yellow gold:
the most traditional of metals; for many gold is a symbol of the warmth and love of a marriage. Look at the mark inside the band to see what quality the gold is - usually 14k, 18k, or 24k. While 24k is the most pure, it is also the softest. If you work with your hands, you may want to choose 14k or 18k to prevent scratches.
White Gold:
A hot trend because it coordinates with both silver and platinum jewelry, yet is cheaper than platinum.
Platinum:
This very stylish metal is also the hardest metal, making it for many a symbol of enduring love. Also, because its not mixed with the lesser metals that gold is, platinum is safe for those with allergies. However, you'll pay more for platinum than for gold.

Precious Gems
When considering precious gems, remember that you will likely wear this ring every day for the rest of your life. Therefore, while softer stones can be beautiful, they aren't the best choices for an wedding band or engagement ring. The Mohs scale registers a stone's ability to resist abrasion; 10 (diamonds) is the strongest and 1 (talc) is the weakest. Anything less than a Mohs scale 7 is not recommended for an engagement ring. If you are a person who does a lot of activity with their hands (how long does a manicure last on you?) then I would advise limiting your selection to rubies, sapphires and diamonds.

To help you out, here's a list of common stones, and their hardness level:
Diamonds 10
Rubies 9
Sapphire 9
Emerald 8
Topaz 8
Aquamarine 7.5 to 8
Amethyst 7
Garnet 6.5 to 7.5
Opal 6

You should also know that a general rule of thumb is the darker the color, the more expensive the stone.

Different of Wedding Ring and Engagement Ring

Engagement rings and wedding rings are different both in appearance and symbolism.

Engagement rings are worn prior to marriage to signify one’s engaged status. The most common engagement rings are diamond solitaires, though engagement rings can be any color or choice of stone depending upon taste. It is given when the man asks the woman to marry him.

The wedding ring is the ring that is given to the bride (and one also to the groom) at the wedding ceremony. The wedding rings signify the eternal bond and sanctity of marriage. The wedding ring is usually a single band without any seam, although many wedding bands are decorated with stones or intricate designs. The wedding ring is a solid band that has no end and is give when the couple actually gets married.

Engagement And Wedding Rings

The woman will usually wear both rings on the left hand ring finger everyday for the rest of her life.

The engagement ring is given to the woman during the proposal. It does normally has a diamond. The wedding ring is given during the wedding ceremony to the man and woman. It sometimes contains diamonds also, but generally is just a solid gold ring.

The engagement ring is given as a symbol to be "engaged" to get married.

The wedding ring is a symbol of the actual marriage.

The engagement ring usually has a center stone. The wedding ring usually does not. Sometimes wedding rings are sold in a matching set, bride and groom. Sometimes the engagement ring and wedding ring are sold in a matching set so they fit nicely together.

Sometimes a wedding ring is known as a wedding band. Can just be a plain band of gold.

The most traditional engagement ring is a single diamond setting. The wedding ring would then just match it in material; gold or platinum, and be about 3 mm thick.

Wedding Ring And Engagement Ring

Proper Way Of Wearing Wedding Rings And Engagement Rings
Everyone has different beliefs on this. The most common is that the wedding band goes on first (closest to the palm) then the engagement ring. This is because the vein in the left ring finger is the most direct to the heart. So the wedding ring should be the ring closest to your heart because it reflects and symbolizes love.

On the wedding day, the bride wears the engagement ring on her right hand, during the ceremony, so the wedding ring can go on first, and it is not supposed to be taken off. Then, bride can put the engagement ring back on after, just above the wedding ring.

Men Selecting a Diamond Engagement Ring

If you are like most men, just thinking of picking out an engagement ring makes you break into a cold sweat. You worry about finding the right style, the best diamond, and of course, the cost. You will find that the best way to calm your nerves is to go into the process with a little basic knowledge.

Many guys are not very comfortable in a jewelry store, but they feel right at home surfing the internet. This can be a great way to do a little basic research on diamonds before starting to shop for one. Another good idea is to ask around for recommendations on jewelry stores. They are not all created equal, and the right one will be a place where the quality is high, the costs are in line with the quality, and the staff is informative but not pushy. Trust is everything when it comes to buying a diamond.

When picking out this important piece of bridal jewelry, there are a few main things you will have to consider: the diamond itself, the setting, and of course the design. Since your beloved will be wearing her engagement ring every day and even picking out other bridal jewelry that complements it, obviously you want it to be something that she really loves. To get advice on style, you can either try to get hints from your girlfriend, or turn to her mother or best friend for pointers.

Diamonds have their own language, and it is helpful to have a basic understanding of the terminology before you start shopping for an engagement ring. You can do this online, or even stop into a jewelry store and ask them to give you a basic education in diamonds. Stores will be happy to do it, because they figure that you will come back to them when you are ready to actually pick out a ring.

The basic things to know about diamonds are: color, cut, clarity, and carat weight. Color refers to the amount of yellow in a diamond or the lack thereof. A colorless diamond (graded D-F) will be the most rare and most expensive. The top of the near-colorless range (grades G and H), can also give you an icy sparkle at a lower price. (Although some brides will see a hint of yellow in an H, so be careful!) Anything lower down the color scale will definitely be more yellow and less desirable. The exception is the natural fancy colored diamonds, primarily yellow, but also pink, blue, orange, and purple. Once the color saturation gets strong enough, it is considered to be a rare and valuable gem.

Clarity refers to the inclusions (marks, scratches, carbon, etc.) in a diamond. The fewer the better! The grades run from IF (internally flawless) down to I (inclusions which are visible to the naked eye). Most couples will be happiest with diamonds graded VS - SI for clarity, which gives you a balance of the natural inclusions (which should be seen only under magnification) and the price.

Carat weight is easy: 100 points = a carat, so a half carat diamond would be 50 points. This is strictly a matter of your taste and budget; just keep in mind that when it comes to diamonds, most women believe that bigger is better! The cut refers to the shape of the diamond. The round brilliant is the most popular by far, but other favorites include the princess cut, the emerald cut, and the Asscher cut. The marquise and heart shapes were big in the 1980s, but are not so much in style now.

Once you are armed with the basic facts, you will feel much more confident in choosing the perfect diamond engagement ring for your girlfriend. Then all you have to do is muster up the courage to pop the question, and you will be on the road to wedded bliss!

Floral Motif Cakes : Wedding Trend

The newest trend in wedding cakes these days goes back to an old one: flowers. It is not so much fresh blossoms pushing the crystal monograms and baroque themes aside, however. The hottest wedding cakes take a minimalist approach, with flat floral motifs or single large blossoms, rather than three dimensional sugar flowers crafted to closely mimic the real thing. Let this guide be your inspiration to this fun new wedding trend.
Flowers and weddings have gone together since the beginning of time. That is why having flowers as the wedding cake decoration has always been so popular. What makes this latest variation on floral wedding cakes fresh and new is that the floral element is more stylized. These hot new cakes bear little resemblance to the tier and blossom cakes of yore. The current crop of wedding confections take a hip modern approach to flowers, using them as either one oversized blossom or a repeating flat motif.

To use the floral motif idea for your cake, select a type of flower as your inspiration that has good graphic quality. Something that is very obvious even in a flat cutout like a daisy would be ideal. Wrap the design around each tier of the cake in a repeating pattern. A smooth fondant works best for the frosting to allow the motif to be very clean and clear. Make it even more crisp with a laser cut design. Some floral motifs will look beautiful on classic round tiers, while others may be well suited to square tiers for an even more modern style.
The newest floral wedding cakes can be streamlined yet still very girly. Top a tiered wedding cake with one extra large flirty sugar flower perched jauntily atop the confection. A large open blossom will work beautifully for this design, such an an anemone, a peony, or a lush garden rose creation. Position the larger-than-life bloom off to one side of the top tier for a fresh look. Use minimal decorations on the other tiers. A small stenciled swag design would be great to play up the feminine nature of the cake, and would be perfect for a bride who loves romantic lace gowns and pearl earrings. Or go for a more minimalist style with just a pretty ribbon marking the base of each tier. Choose a ribbon color which contrasts with the flower hue for a fun pop of color.

Ultra-flat airbrushed floral designs are another hot trend in wedding cakes. Bakers use a stencil and airbrush to create precise flat patterns on the tiers of the cake. Usually a single color or two is used for the design to keep the creation simple and unfussy. Floral motifs which wrap symmetrically around the base of each tier are more in vogue for stenciled cakes than diagonal flowers dripping down the sides of the dessert.
If you are a fan of the retro trend that has been sweeping bridal lately, play it up with your cake. Design a cute cake in a 1950s pink, black, and white combination that will be the perfect addition to a retro wedding. Keep the overall design simple and have the baker place one large sugar blossom on the side of the middle tier of the cake, much like a corsage on a dress for a '50s formal. A faux "pearl" pin to hold the corsage design in place would be a whimsical touch, and would also be a great complement to the bride's pearl earrings and necklace. The new floral wedding cakes are a great new take on an old favorite.
